Golden Ridge Elite Junior Program conducted by Gordie Burns
Gordie Burns knows what it takes for a junior golfer to reach his or her potential as a player, and potentially earn your child a scholarship to a University.
How does he know what it takes?
As a former GAO Junior, Juvenile, Bantam champion, and AJGA Rolex Junior All-American (alongside Tiger Woods) who earned a golf scholarship to an NCAA Division 1 school, he certainly has first hand experience of what is necessary to compete at the highest levels.
Perhaps your son or daughter has dreams of being a professional golfer. As a former 5 year member of the Canadian Tour, as well as PGA Tour experience, Gordie has a keen eye for rapidly improving the talents necessary to make steady progress towards achieving career goals.
Gordie currently coaches many of the provinces top juniors including 15 year old Joey Kraemer who is a presently a member of the GAO U17 team. Over the past 3 years, Joey had seen his handicap go from 16 to an impressive 1. Joey has already been noticed by Universities across the U.S. and will no doubt earn a scholarship to a top NCAA Division 1 school.
A couple of Gordie's other top junior prospects include Julia Champion and Stephanie Chu. As a 13 year old, Julia captured the CJGA Junior Linksters Order of Merit with 2 victories as well as 2 US Kids Golf victories. She saw her handicap move from 22 to 8 last year. 15 year-old Stephanie Chu had 2 victories of her own last summer in all age level junior girls GAO events. These and many other juniors that Gordie works with will go on to compete at the highest collegiate levels.
